Who We Are

About the Team

A small team of local investigators documenting the unexplained in California's historic Gold Country — with open minds and a critical eye.

The Mission

Why We Do This

El Dorado County Paranormal is a small team of local investigators exploring the unexplained in the county we call home. Our mission has not changed since the day we started: to document, to research, and to share what we find with anyone seeking honest answers about the unexplained.

We work in the space between skepticism and belief. Unexplained phenomena deserve serious inquiry — not dismissal, and not sensationalism — so we bring both an open mind and a critical eye to every case. The two are not in conflict; together, they are the whole method.

And we work in remarkable territory. The Gold Rush began here, in the river gravel at Coloma, and the county it built — the Victorian hotels, the pioneer cemeteries, the stage roads, the town once called Hangtown — has been telling strange stories about itself ever since. Somebody local ought to be listening carefully. That's us.

The Compass

What We Believe

  • Honest Assessment

Most reported activity turns out to have an ordinary explanation — old wiring, settling wood, a draft, a memory. When it does, we say so, plainly. An honest "no" is worth more than a thrilling "maybe."

  • Serious Inquiry

The unexplained deserves rigor, not ridicule — and not embellishment either. We research before we arrive, measure before we conclude, and publish only what survives our own review.

  • Privacy & Respect

Your name, your property, and anything we record stay confidential. Evidence is never shared without explicit permission — and we treat the people in these stories, living and dead, with respect.

The Discipline

How We Work

Six steps, in the same order, every time — whether the case is a Main Street landmark or a family's living room.

  1. Initial Consultation

We listen first. What has been experienced, where, by whom, and for how long — before any equipment leaves the cases.

  2. Historical Research

Property records, prior occupants, newspaper archives. The record often explains — or deepens — the story.

  3. Baseline Documentation

The location measured on its own terms: readings, temperatures, and sound levels taken before conclusions.

  4. Active Investigation

Systematic sweeps and controlled sessions in the areas of reported activity, documented as they happen.

  5. Evidence Analysis

Everything is reviewed afterward by more than one set of eyes and ears. Anything with a plausible natural explanation is set aside.

  6. The Report

Findings in plain language: what we found, what we ruled out, and what we could not explain.

The Investigators

The Team

We're your neighbors. Everyone on this team lives here in El Dorado County, and every case begins the same way: we introduce ourselves in person, sit down at your table, and listen — long before a single piece of equipment comes out.

We keep individual profiles off the site for now. Discretion is a promise we make to the people we help, and we extend the same courtesy to our own investigators until each is ready to be named on the record. When they are, you'll meet them here.
